Our philosophy

🌎Cultural awareness🌎

At SAPS we believe that being aware of the diversity of cultures and how that shapes identities is crucial to the development of empathy and harmony in society. We encourage children to be immersed in activities related to the different celebrations of their families and communities and all those around the world.

♻️Sustainable practices♻️

The environment and its care is one of our main drivers. We not only teach children about sustainable practices and the rationale behind them, but also ensure that we use recycled materials while teaching children ways to care for the environment.

☮️ Ethics and morals☮️

This aspect is interlinked with all others of our philosophy in that we lead children through reflections to ensure they understand the natural consequences of actions in themselves and others. Furthermore, we model respect and positive behaviours as a way to ensure that we preach by example. Our aim is to promote independence and critical thinking in the children to equip them with the tools to make the right decisions independently from their peers.

♾️Diversity and inclusion♾️

We believe that all children should be equally catered for in education. As such, we are fierce advocates of inclusion and seek to actively teach children that being different is being human.

🏫Community engagement🏫

Our partnerships with the community are a crucial part of our programme. We seek and provide opportunities to involve the children within the local and SAPS communities.

🤓Continuous professional development🤓

We are committed to continuously improve ourselves. As such, we have a cycle of CPD that includes planning, implementation, and evaluation. This does not work in a vacuum, but rather it is integrated with our practice.
